The Brahms-Institut seeks to appeal to all those interested in this great composer: music lovers, musicians, and musicologists. As a center of expertise, the Brahms-Institut focuses on the life, work, and reception history of Johannes Brahms.
At the heart of Villa Brahms on Lübeck’s Jerusalemsberg is a unique collection with valuable music manuscripts, letters, photographs, and other sources on Johannes Brahms and his circle. These materials are digitally available to all those interested. As a cultural beacon with an international reputation, the institute also seeks to promote Brahms and his music around the world.
