In its September 2025 issue, neue musikzeitung (NMZ) highlights the Brahms Portal as a “cultural beacon of the state of Schleswig-Holstein” and a “paradigm of scholarly sound communication.” Particular praise is given to the project’s technical excellence: a modern platform featuring semantic data interlinking, intuitive navigation, and an internationally accessible user interface. The portal makes the collections of the Brahms Institute in Lübeck—comprising around 10,000 digitized items—globally available, accessible from anywhere in the world and on any device. NMZ emphasizes the exemplary nature of this digital infrastructure, which equally inspires research, teaching, and musical education. The portal was developed with the support of the State of Schleswig-Holstein and the Possehl Foundation Lübeck.
